I know you have heard of vegetable juicing for cleansing the body. Have you wondered why this has become so popular?
Juicing has been around for ages. Jack LaLanne was a strong promoter of juicing until the day he passed at 96 years old. We live in an age where our soil is so nutrient deprived due to chemicals and pesticides, that we are not getting nearly the proper amount of vitamins and minerals our bodies need to sustain a healthy life and fight off disease. This is precisely why the rates of cancer, autoimmune disease and many other life-threatening illnesses are on the rise. We can heal our bodies through our nutrition. If we look at the fact that our soil is depleted from many vital minerals, which in turn grows vegetables that are far less nutrient dense, then it only makes good sense that we need to consume more of these vegetables in order to receive what our bodies need. Then my question to you is this: Can you eat thirty servings of vegetables in one day? Of course not, no one could, unless you juice your veggies. Here's what you need to do: Buy a large plastic container to place all your loose veggies in. Store this in your fridge and take it out when you are ready to juice. This helps cut down on the time you spend taking veggies out of the bags, taking off the twist ties, etc. Grab your veggies and start juicing! You will want to drink 8 to 10 oz. of veggie juice three times a day for optimal health. If you juice all your ounces in one session, make sure to store the juice in air tight containers in your fridge for no longer than 12 hours before consuming. To ensure maximum freshness and nutrients, you can fill the juice to the brim of pre-refrigerated containers prior to sealing. The coolness of the containers and the reduction of air in them helps to reduce the oxidation that occurs. If you notice bloating or digestive discomfort, try mixing the ratio of juice to water 1:1. As a beginning juicer, try this out for the first few weeks as your body eases into the process. Often, large amount of sugars from the veggies and fruit without the roughage of the pulp can be irritating to some. If you are new to juicing, you might be wondering what veggies are the best to juice. Here is a list of my favorites: Carrot
Green Apple
Lemon
Cucumber Celery Cucumber (actually a fruit)
My own personal tip is to add ginger root. Ginger is great for digestion, and research has shown that ginger can have dramatic effects on cardiovascular health, such as preventing Atherosclerosis and lowering cholesterol levels. Need one more reason to juice? Remember, nutrients are not absorbed until our food is in a liquid state, so why not cut out the middleman and save your body from all that hard work and energy? Use that energy for workouts instead!
Enjoy your newfound health!
When I don't have time to juice I double up on my Juice Plus supplements.
They even come in Yummy Gummies!
